Aminu needs very little introduction within public private partnerships circles in Africa. He was from 2013 to 2017, the Director General of the Nigerian Infrastructure Concession and Regulatory Commission (ICRC), superintending over the regulation of public private partnerships in Africa’s biggest economy. Before the ICRC, Aminu worked at various times with Savannah Bank of Nigeria, United Bank for Africa and Alpha Merchant Bank Plc where he was Company Secretary/Legal Adviser for 6 years. He also served as Company Secretary/Legal Adviser of Africa’s biggest conglomerate, the Dangote Group.
An Attorney of over 37 years post call to bar experience, Aminu also holds postgraduate qualifications in law and is a Fellow of the International Bar Association, with practice certificates in International Arbitration Law, International Joint Ventures, International Business Organizations, International Mergers & Acquisitions and International Competition Law. He has also attended a plethora of courses in the fields of risk assessment, contract management, strategic management of regulatory and enforcement agencies, contract compliance and performance monitoring, dispute resolution for PPP Projects, negotiation and drafting of international financial agreements etc.
Aminu is member of the Financial Reporting Council of Nigeria, the Nigerian Bar Association, the Nigerian Institute of Management and Fellow of the Nigerian Institute of Arbitrators, as well as member of the Board of Governors, Lagos Chamber of Commerce Arbitration Centre. He heads our Legal and Regulatory Advisories section.
